If you're dreaming of a wedding in the Canadian Rockies with beautiful mountain scenery, lakeside ceremony spaces, and the convenience of having everything in one place, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is one of Jasper's most iconic wedding venues.
Set along the shores of Lac Beauvert, just outside the Jasper townsite, this historic mountain resort combines rustic log cabins, elegant reception spaces, and plenty of opportunities for beautiful wedding photography.
As a local Jasper wedding photographer, I've photographed many weddings at Jasper Park Lodge, and it's a venue I always enjoy returning to. Whether you're planning a large celebration with family and friends or a smaller, more intimate wedding, there are some wonderful options to choose from.
A LITTLE HISTORY OF FAIRMONT JASPER PARK LODGE
Jasper Park Lodge has been welcoming visitors to the Canadian Rockies for more than a century. What began as a collection of rustic cabins in the early 1900s has grown into one of Canada's most recognizable mountain resorts.
Over the years, the lodge has welcomed famous guests, including Queen Elizabeth II and Marilyn Monroe, while maintaining much of its original Rocky Mountain character.
Today, its heritage log cabins, beautiful grounds, and lakeside setting make it a lovely combination of rustic mountain charm and modern luxury.
CEREMONY AND RECEPTION SPACES
One of the biggest advantages of getting married at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is the variety of ceremony and reception spaces available.
For outdoor ceremonies, Beauvert Plateau is a popular choice, offering an open setting overlooking Lac Beauvert and the surrounding mountains. Smaller weddings may be better suited to one of the lakeside sundecks or Lakefront Ridge, while Trefoil Lake offers another beautiful outdoor setting with views toward Pyramid Mountain.
For receptions, the lodge offers several indoor venues, including the Beauvert Ballroom, with its large windows overlooking the lake, and the Mary Schaffer Ballroom, known for its vaulted ceilings and classic mountain-lodge atmosphere.
There are also options for smaller celebrations, including intimate weddings and elopements.
With a variety of venue sizes and layouts, Jasper Park Lodge can accommodate everything from a small gathering to a large wedding with several hundred guests, depending on the space selected.
Another major benefit is convenience. You can get ready in your cabin, hold your ceremony overlooking the lake, take wedding portraits around the property, and celebrate with your guests afterward, all without having to leave the resort.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
This is where Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge really shines for me as a photographer.
The property offers so much variety, from the turquoise waters of Lac Beauvert to rustic log cabins, mountain views, and quiet pathways winding through the grounds.
The lakeshore is one of my favourite places for wedding portraits, particularly when the water is calm and the mountains are reflected in the lake. I also love incorporating the lodge's character into photographs, whether that's the warm textures of the cabins, stonework, or the natural scenery surrounding the property.
And because everything is relatively close together, we can often capture a wonderful variety of portraits without spending a large portion of your wedding day travelling between locations.
Of course, Jasper's mountain weather can be unpredictable, but the resort also offers plenty of opportunities for creative photographs when conditions aren't quite what we planned.

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is one of Jasper's more luxurious wedding venues, and pricing will depend on your chosen ceremony and reception spaces, guest count, catering, accommodations, and other details.
The lodge has a dedicated wedding planning team that can help couples explore the available options and put together a celebration that suits their vision.
One of the things I appreciate about working at Jasper Park Lodge is the experience of their wedding and event staff. Having a knowledgeable team coordinating the day can make a big difference, particularly for larger weddings.
The resort also offers on-site accommodations, catering, and a range of activities for couples and their guests.

POST-WILDFIRE UPDATE
The 2024 Jasper wildfire had a significant impact on parts of the landscape surrounding Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Thankfully, much of the resort's main infrastructure survived, and the property continues to welcome couples celebrating their weddings in Jasper National Park.
Some of the most noticeable changes are around Lac Beauvert and the golf course, where sections of the surrounding forest were burned. These areas now offer a different landscape than they did before the wildfire, with blackened trees, more open views, and new vegetation gradually returning.
While the scenery has changed, many of the locations I love for wedding photography remain incredibly beautiful. The lake, mountains, historic cabins, and resort grounds still offer a wonderful variety of backdrops.
For couples hoping for photographs surrounded by dense evergreen forest, we may want to consider which areas of the property will work best or explore another nearby location for additional portraits.
As someone who has photographed weddings here both before and after the wildfire, I'm happy to help couples understand what the property currently looks like and plan their photographs accordingly.

MY THOUGHTS
There's a reason Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has remained such a popular wedding destination for so many years. It offers a wonderful combination of mountain scenery, historic charm, and the convenience of having so much of your wedding day in one location.
With intimate lakeside ceremonies to large celebrations in the ballrooms available to book, there's plenty of flexibility to create a wedding that feels like your own.
And from a photography perspective, I love that we can make the most of Jasper's beautiful scenery while still keeping the day relaxed and enjoyable.
